Session 3: Freedom of Speech & The Power Of Propaganda

Book: Chapters 4 & 5

Workbook: Lessons 4 & 5

Welcome to Session 3 of the We Will Not Be Silenced Online Course.

Chapters 4 and 5 go well together as both chapters address speech and the way speech is used in America. Freedom of speech is a key component of American democracy and many believe that it is under threat, especially for the Church.

Pastor Lutzer gives examples of the way Cultural Marxism impacts most of society, including freedom of speech. Prepare to learn about the value of free speech, arguments for banning so-called “hate speech” and arguments in favor of free speech. Also covered is the definition of propaganda, Hitler & the power of hate, the power of cultural demonization, the sexual revolution, gaslighting, and what the response of the church should be

In both the book and the video session, Pastor Lutzer challenges the body of Christ to be faithful to Christ by speaking when we should with clarity about issues, even if it means we encounter opposition. He says that opposition experienced when speaking the truth should be considered a badge of honor.

  • How does that resonate with you?

  • Do you feel prepared to stand firm in the faith?

  • Do you have the tools needed to pursue unity in the body of Christ while also discussing truth?

Our prayer is that as you work through the workbook you would grow in confidence not just in yourself, but also in your confidence in God. He will help you love your neighbor well!
